Tournament of Hope

NAN Hope attended the Tournament of Hope Career and Resource Fair and opening ceremonies at the Victoria Inn in Thunder Bay on May 16, 2023. We were happy to connect with youth from many NAN communities and share information about the services NAN Hope provides. The tournament is running from May 15-21, 2023. We wish all the teams participating the best of luck!

Wake The Giant Career Fair

NAN Hope attended the Wake The Giant Career Fair for students at Dennis Franklin Cromarty Highschool on March 7, 2023. This Career Fair was intended to promote career awareness and the employment opportunities available in various fields. It was also an opportunity for students to learn about the NAN Hope Program and increase awareness about the services we provide.

NAN Education Student Orientation

NAN Hope attended the NAN Education Student Orientation in Thunder Bay on September 14, 2022. Melissa Berry, NAN Hope Program Manager, and NAN Hope Counsellors Ron Kanutski, Tannis Smith and Melanie Tibishkogijig shared information about NAN Hope with students from NNEC, Dennis Franklin Cromarty, St. Ignatius, Hammarskjold, St. Patrick’s and Westgate High School. NAN Hope wishes all the students success in their studies this school year!

Nishnawbe Aski Nation Mental Health Summit

NAN Hope was invited to attend the Nishnawbe Aski Nation Mental Health Summit in July 2022 in Thunder Bay, ON. The summit focused on addictions, grief and loss, and suicide prevention. Melissa Berry, NAN Hope Program Manager, and Tina Armstrong, a NAN Hope social worker, shared information about NAN Hope services with chiefs, councillors, and workers from NAN communities.
