NAN Hope Care Packages
Dalton Associates has been proud to support the citizens of NAN communities with the NAN Hope program.
This past June, following the tragic findings of burial sites at the former Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc (Kamloops) residential school and many others since, NAN HOPE and Dalton Associates reached out in writing to all the NAN First Nation leadership to extend our commitment to unite our voice with yours in the call for every burial site to be uncovered. Our hearts, voices, and actions are with you and those in your community that are affected. As a settler organization, Dalton Associates feel we have a responsibility to reverse the impacts of historical and current colonial acts and to promote reconciliation. We have begun to make conscious efforts to demand government change and to advocate for the completion of the 94 Calls to Action, by The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada at every opportunity we encounter.
We sincerely appreciate the relationships we have established and nurtured over the past year and we are committed to working with you as we strengthen the support for individuals, families, and communities. We are inspired by your leadership and committed to walk beside you and listen unconditionally.
As a small contribution towards any planned community vigils or ceremonial gatherings that may occur to bring people together and to aid in the support needed in acknowledging those lost and the strength of those who have survived, we would like to let you know that NAN Hope can provide your community with a care package that you may consider distributing at these gatherings. In this NAN Hope care package, you will receive vigil candles to illuminate love to the spirits of the children lost, blankets to provide warmth and comfort during these times of sorrow and remembrance, masks as a safety measure, and NAN Hope information for support.
NAN Hope and Dalton Associates hope that the contents of the care package can provide some comfort and love during these difficult times.
